OFMOS® Professional — Prototype
Eighteen products, evolving portfolios, and the logic of organizational learning — the original vision for the OFMOS® tabletop experience
1. The Concept
OFMOS® Professional moves further along the spectrum toward full simulation, scaling the game to the complexity of a professionally managed company. Players launch and operate 18 products across nine environments through four distinct stages: Startup, Expansion, Restructuring, and Finale.
The game introduces two mechanics that distinguish it from the titles to its left on the spectrum. Portfolio evolution requires players to divest lower-potential products and invest in higher-potential ones — converting triangles into squares, and squares into pentagons — a mechanic that models the real restructuring decisions companies face as they mature. Organizational learning is modeled through a dice-based probability system: in the Expansion stage, two dice constrain where players can act (11% chance of targeting a specific environment); in Restructuring, one die expands their control (33%); in the Finale, no dice are needed (100%). The progression simulates the growing expertise of a CEO and organization over time.
OFMOS® Professional is the original vision for the OFMOS® tabletop experience — the first design to reach the prototyping stage and the subject of the earliest Kickstarter campaigns. OFMOS® Essential was designed to make the family accessible before Professional reaches production.
Like all titles in the family, OFMOS® Professional can be played as a pure strategy game or as a business simulation. Both modes are complete experiences.
